中外学术期刊英文题名比较

——中西方思维、心理学差异的影响

摘要： 本文着重从中西方思维、心理学差异入手，研究了中外学术期刊题名的套语使用、副标题的采用频率、句式选择诸方面，提出了注意心理学差异、西方人“线性”思维模式和国人“螺旋型”思维模式是造成期刊题名表述差异的基本原因。

Comparison of the Chinese and Foreign Academic Journals in Their English Titles: Effect of Difference in Thinking Model and Psychology

Abstract: By analyzing the difference between the thinking models of the Chinese and Western people, the author makes approaches to academic journals of science in their application of “routine words”, sub-tiles and structures, and thus puts forward that the primary cause for the different expressions of titles may be attributed to the attention psychological difference and the different thinking models between the Western people’s “linear ”one and the Chinese people’s “spiral” one.

  中外学术期刊对题名都有相似的标准，即：精练、简练、清晰，简称A, B, C ( accuracy, brevity and clarity ) [1]。虽然标准相似，但中外期刊英文题名表述仍存在着相当大的差异（国内期刊为汉译英题目）。笔者研究发现造成这种差异的基本原因是注意心理学和西方“线性”思维模式和国人“螺旋型”思维模式的差异。

随机选取国内期刊4种: (1) 中国中西医结合杂志，2004年4月第24卷第4期；（2 ）北京中医2004年2月第23卷第2期；（3）问题2004年第3期（总第255期）；（4 ）中国2004年2月第27卷第1期。国外期刊3种：(1）Cancer 2003 (2003; 97(6); American Cancer Society)   (2) Arthritis and Rheumatic(2004；50（6）; An Official Journal of the American College of Rheumatology) ;  (3 ) (2003；93（1）The American Journal of Public Health An Official Journal of the American Public Health Association)

2  比较与结果

2.1 比较内容

从三方面对上述期刊的题名进行比较：1）套语的使用（姑息将研究、观察、分析、初探等称为套语）；2）副标题的采用频率；3）句式选择。

2.2比较结果:

2.2.1论文题名套语的使用。

比较选取的4种国内期刊: 共88篇英译题目, 在主题名中使用“研究”,“分析”，“观察”等定性词的有25 篇题目，出现频率为28％。 3 种国外期刊 ：共95篇论文题名，没有一篇在主题名中使用“研究”，“分析”，“观察”等这类词，出现频率为0％。

2.2.2国内外期刊副标题的使用。

查阅以上所提到的四种国内期刊88篇文章的英文题目共3篇采用了副标题（3.5％）；而上述3种国外期刊，总共95 篇文章题目，副标题的使用竟达39篇，比率为41.05％，国外期刊副标题使用率是国内期刊使用率的10倍以上。可见副标题使用率之高。

 2.2.3国内外期刊题目英语句式的采用。

国内外期刊题目在英语句式的使用方面，均以短语式为主，偶见一两个完整句，这一点国内外期刊基本相同。
